welcome
I’m Heather and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT#129763) based in Los Angles offering both in-person and virtual sessions.
I work with women, couples, children, teen girls, parents, and families to address a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression trauma, relational issues, family dynamics, and school-based challenges.
I’m not the therapist I was trained to be. I think the idea of an overly serious and clinical therapy experience sounds awful. Instead, I take an individualized, relationship-based approach that is warm, collaborative, and conversational. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, and to better understand your current experience. With children, I incorporate art, story, and play to help them cultivate awareness around their emotions, and to develop necessary self-regulation and self-advocacy skills.
My practice is fully inclusive; I invite and embrace clients of all backgrounds and identities. I am; however, particularly attuned, and deeply committed, to clients of color and supporting their specific needs.
I am a proud alumna of Howard University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in English, and of Pepperdine University where I graduated magna cum laude with a master’s in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. With a background in education, I also hold a Master Teacher designation in Early Childhood Education. #teachers.
